We Are Our Own Enemy

President Franklin D Roosevelt

“It isn't sufficient just to want - you've got to ask yourself what you are going to do to get the things you want.” -FDR

I believe in this quote greatly because if you do not take actions to do what you want, you will not advance and then you are your worst enemy. Why I believe in us being our own enemy is that the people surrounding us are only influences and minor factors in our decisions, but we have the ability to make intelligent decisions on our own. I feel that people do not realize this and they let things in the world take over their right to choose.

Much madness is the divinest sense
To a discerning eye;
Much sense the starkest madness.
'T is the majority
In this, as all, prevails.
Assent, and you are sane;
Demur, -- you're straightway dangerous,
And handled with a chain.

Emily Dickinson
